Why I made it
A decent cover letter needs to connect your actual experience to the job you are applying for. Starting again for every application takes ages, but swapping the company name in a generic template is not much better.
I made Cover Letter Guru to handle the repetitive setup. You give it the resume and the job, then edit the result in your own voice instead of spending ten minutes rebuilding the same AI prompt each time.
How it works
You upload a PDF, Word or text resume, then paste the job description or give the app a link. It pulls out the useful parts of both, matches your experience to the role and writes the draft while you watch.
You can choose the tone, edit anything you do not like, save the letter, copy it or download it. Your resume stays in your account so the next application is quicker.
What I built
Generating the text is the obvious bit, but it is not the whole product. I also built the resume parser, job-page scraper, accounts, onboarding, saved history, subscriptions, document exports and an AI resume review.
The app works in multiple languages and has guides for different types of jobs. Most importantly, the letters are based on what is actually in your resume and the job description, rather than making up filler to sound impressive.
